My first project at work is to build a servlet container like Tomcat!
At least I have a group of 4 other new hires to help out.
Also, I finally found an apartment. It's in a quiet neighborhood off of
Hardy street, which is probably the largest street with almost all of
the restaurants in the city. It has a backdoor with a small
porch (very small) and 2 bedrooms upstairs! It also includes a washer
and dryer, but they're in the kitchen. I already know I'm going to need
more furniture b/c there's going to be a lot of empty space.
I haven't found much else to
do here yet though. I'm thinking about buying a bicycle and
riding around like I used to do in Birmingham (before my bike was
stolen!)
Now that I'm getting almost $2000 a month, I have to REALLY control my
spending urge, especially on a laptop. But I really need one...right
now I'm using my roommate's laptop. I think I'm going to buy a
laptop before I even buy furniture for my apartment; besides the realty
company is repainting it and I can't move in until July 15, so I can't
buy furniture right now.
I think I'm going to like it at my first corporate job at BearingPoint. So far it has just been TONS of training. And not just software training, but Legal training (telling ANYONE about stocks tips before the media knows is insider trading, blah, blah), and Finance training (what does accounts receivable mean?).
This week has been java training and it will be for the next 7 weeks. Everyone has to get java certified. It's great!

I got blisters yesterday while playing basketball with JM (my cousin) and his friends. It hurts to walk.

I just got to California. I''m excited! Today I get to see Lola, Auntie
Guia, and JM. I'll detail what all happens to me later.
